AWOL

Being sick is good… if you’re in High school.

If you’re in College, it’s bad. It’s very bad. Sure, you can get a total of six absences per subject but the thing is, and profs usually say this, you have to choose when to be absent. Well fckit cos I didn’t choose to be absent on important days of class! Fck. Back in High school, you miss two days of classes, it’s nothing because when you get back, the topic that was being discussed while you were absent is (surprise surprise) still being discussed!! Yes, that is the reality in High school. Our high school anyway. A day’s worth of algebraic equations in College Algebra is a week-long discussion in AC. How comforting. :))

Now, I’m getting my ass whooped by 5 teachers and their damn lessons. Plus, I have to go back and forth to the Infirmary and College Sec for my excuse slips to be approved and signed by teachers. Oh, how simple the life was back then. Makes me kind of miss it- emphasis on the kind of. I don’t miss it so much because, well, college gives you more freedom. And me likey freedom. Me likey it very much. Now, if I could only get my dad to buy me a Shih Tzu. Now that would definitely be the Shih!!

I apologize if this blog entry came later than expected because, well, Christmas is over (the actual date, at least) and we’re on our way to 2009 and we’re almost getting there. But still, I can feel the Christmas season just hanging in the air. That, i think, is reason enough to still be jolly and happy. 🙂 Not that we go back to being grumpy before. I mean, it’s jut expected of us. But wth, do whatever pleases you. HAHA.

Anyway, a lot has happened during the Christmas vacation and even though we’re not complete (you know who you are), I still am thankful because there still are phonecalls and that is as close as we can get to them. Faith, I think, will be our saving grace. 🙂

Anyway, the point of this blog entry is for me to properly wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 😀

This is a time to just forget everything else and focus on what matters most- our families and the love that we share to other people because contrary to popular belief, love (not money) makes this world go round. It’s certainly is the only thing we’ve got going for us at this time. So make the most out of it. Spread some love and good cheer. Everyone needs a bit of both. 🙂

‘Tis the Season

 

Seooow, I haven’t posted anything in a while, huh? For those who read my blog (not a lot, im sure), I’m very sorry for making you wait. Or maybe you didn’t wait. I don’t lead a rather exciting life anyway. HAHA.

But, in order to keep this blog active and for me to rant without being judged (to my face), I will post something here.

We all know that Christmas is fast approaching and Santa is porlly busy making all kinds of toys in the North pole while Mrs. Claus is knitting up a storm. I’ve been busy doing a bit of Christmas shopping as well. Yes, it’s the time of the year again where I get to buy all sorts of stuff without feeling a pang of guilt afterwards because it IS Christmas and you could use generosity as an excuse to spend money impulsively. Haha.

Well, I started shopping for Christmas gifts just this morning and I kept on buying stuff that caught my eye without really thinking who I’d give it to. Thankfully, I got to figure all that out when I got home. Whoo! I feel really giddy whenever I go christmas shopping, and I also get excited with the wrapping part too. I love wrapping gifts! I can’t pinpoint exactly what it is that enthralls me to wrap gifts but I just like doing it. I could wrap gifts all day looong. But, of course, I won’t.  Tch.

My family is really into the holiday spirit. So far, we have 5 christmas trees in our house. I wrote ‘so far’ because the number may rise as christmas draws nearer. God forbid it does. It’s not that I don’t like christmas trees but I think 5 is enough. Goodness, one is enough in most households let alone five! Anyway, one thing I found rather odd is that nobody has been going caroling still- even with 19 days left till christmas. I’m not complaining because it does save us the trouble of having to open the gate eveytime there are carolers but it would be nice to listen to kids attempting to sing (correctly) the xmas songs. I especially like Jingle Bells.

Anyhoo, I will surely be missing my relatives who’ll be (yet again) away from us this Christmas. It would be great to spend the holidays with them. Oh well. There’s still the traditional way of greeting which is through snail mail and the great wonder of technology- email. And of course, you’ll be in our prayers every night. 🙂

I hope in this season of cheer, nations will unite, families will continue to love each other, problems will be  solved or at the very least set aside, every household will have food on their table however humble, every kid will be given a simple gift to brighten up their holiday and I hope, suicide rates will go down. Christmas only comes once a year and it’s the best way for people to help and give whatever they can. I have started and will continue even after Christmas. I hope others will do the same. 🙂

OKAY, OUR GRADES ARE IN.

Im schooper-duper happy with my grades!!! 1.5 in History2? WoootWoot!! And about the teacher I have who’s very hard to impress and I think might have a wee bit of grudge on me because my dad’s, well, a lawyer- he gave me a 2.5!! Can you fuggin’ believe that?? Guess I was wrong about him. Or am I? :)))

But still, I have to take a removal test for Math11. ANG LINTEK GID NA NGA SUBJECT NGA BWISIT GID SA PANGABUHI KU MO! SAN-O PA KO MAKALAMPAS SA MATH MAN?! ugh. It’s frustrating me. But anyway, I’m going to study hard for the test so I could pass. At least I didn’t get a single singko, roiiight? Fer a freshman, I’m pretty damn proud of myself. =)

Soo… sembreak’s still lingering. I have so far watched a dozen movies, bought myself two new books, splurged on 2 shirts and rekindled my love for HP. Yes, I’m reading the 6th Harry Potter book again. Me & my sisters just can’t get enough of it! Call us nerds but really, we love the whole story. My favorite character’s RON. He’s just so goddamn funny and his personality when it comes to school’s kinda like mine. Im a slacker, you see. It has turned into a skill, really. DON’T JUDGE ME. oh, and his non-stop bickering with Hermione is just hilarious! They end up being together but their ‘romance’ is really unusual. Kinda like how things are going with me & a friend right now. Might turn into something- migh not. I don’t really care. :))

Or wait. Maybe I do. You see, me & my two best pals have made a pact/bet/agreement/wtvryoucallit amongst ourselves. First one to get a boyfriend buys the other two new dresses from this expensive store. Talk about painful. Haha. We’ll have to see who loses. Watch out fer that. B-)

Okay, I have to go. Mom’s nagging me to eat dinner already. Gee-heez.

So our finals are over. Finally, SEMBREAK! :))

Now youwould think that I’m very happy. I am, but not entirely. I still have to wait for my grades via internet and I’m dreading every day that I have to check it out  to see how I did. I know I’m going to pass all my subjects- except for Math and maybe socsci. Srsly, I think our socsci teacher hates me. A frustrated  lawyer perhaps? He knows my dad’s a lawyer and he’s been a pain in the ass.  AAAARGH.

I’m surely going to miss my college friends though. Jill’s going back to Antique, Chuchay to Aklan and the Yeabois are parting ways as well. Dondi’s flying off to Manila, Justin to Mindanao and all the others from other parts of Panay. Oh, well. At least I’ll get 2 weeks of non-stop rest. I don’t want to do anything this sembreak. I just want to rest, curl up in bed, wriggle through the sheets- in short, BE LAZY. (im incredibly good at it yknow. haha)

SAY HELLO TO YOUR FIRST HELL WEEK, 2008-32173!!!

 

That’s my student number, btw. Haha. So, this week is hell week because of all the exams that we’re supposed to take. My first ever Finals. WOOOAH.

So far, I’ve passed two subjects and so, I’m safe there. I just have to worry about the other 5. HOOBOY.

17TH

Seeooooow, it’s my birthday. (–,)

Im honestly having a hard time getting it all down my throat. It’s too hard to swallow. I’M F-N SEVENTEEN!! One more year to go and I’ll be, wait for it, LEGAL. Woaah.

But anyway, let’s focus on the now and deal with the later later. So, I was kinda bummed that I’ll be celebrating my birthday in Miag-ao, away from my family. And I’ll be going to classes instead of just bumming around. Craaaf. But what I thought would be a big bust turned out to be a big blast! I slept early on the night of the 25th but by 12am, my friends banged on the doors and woke me up, blindfolded me and led me to our dorm mini-library where they sang Happy Birthday for me and ate cupcakes, bread and VANILLA ICE CREAM! Yummmy. :))

My miag-ao barkada greeted me and gave me a manila paper greeting me ‘happy birthday’ witha little funny saying. I excused them for their lack of imagination when it came to giving gifts mainly because they’re, well, guys. Yes, my barkada is composed of 6 guys but they’re the best guys you could ever meet!! 🙂 Anywaaay, the day just kept on getting better and better. It feels good to be greeted! haha. Plus, I saw my crush today and so, it was kind of the cherry on top of a fastastic brithday experience in Miami!

But still, coming home and celebrating dinner with my family is the best thing ever. Nothing will ever beat that. My siblings also have gifts for me and it made it all the more special. And so, for all the greetings, gifts, treats & texts, THANK YOU. I APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH. trois cent! 🙂

Okay, so this week is dropping week in UP.  This is the part of the semester where your nerves get all hyped up and shake their little tailfeathers like hell. Me and my friends from AC are feeling the pressure. As in, feeling the pressure. We’re all geting a bit paranoid too. Maybe that’s because were neophytes and we dont get the whole complexity of the UP grading system. Or maybe we feel like a singko is not far from reach. I hope its still faaaar. VERY FAR.

But you know why Im so scared right now?  Im, well, failing MATH11. Everybody says its normal for students to fail in UP but Im getting jittery thinking about it because I dont want to disappoint my parents and everybody else for that matter. Im just so frustrated with myself. I study hard but I can’t seem to get it right in the actual exam! Goddemit! This is really my weakness.  I’m doing okay in my other subjects but I suck at Math.  Tni mkabawi ko sa next long exams ko. *sigh*

Maybe this is all a part of College. The stress (gdako na eyebags ko. So not cool), the struggles and of course, the fun that you experience while you go along with it all. HAAY, UP.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Toto, Tita Lina, Tita Lani & to whom it may concern,

I have already posted the pictures of the current house rennovation being done at Lawaan. Mom went there the other day & took photos. Lanz was there too. He’s there when he has free time because he likes hanging out with the workers & helping in the construction stuff. Its amusing because he’s very much like daddy. GETTING IN CHARGE OF STUFF. I mean, he says stuff like, “Boboy, sala man na gina ubra mo. Dapat amo ni ho.” then, he would demonstrate or he would joke around saying stuf like, “Dasiga niu ubra! Sugid ta kmo krun kay daddy! hahaha!”  His ‘co-workers/buddies’ would just laugh it off and go along with lanz’s little antics. 🙂
