LEAFLET ON LIFE

March 27, 2008

MARCH 26, 2008- GRADUATION DAY

I DID IT! I DID IT! I GOT MY DIPLOMA! :)))

Sister Claire: “By the power vested in me, I now declare you, graduates of Assumption, Batch 2007-2008. CONGRATULATIONS!”

IT WAS A MAGICAL FEELING. My eyes started to well up. As I looked around, my batchmates were having the same gleam in their eyes and beam in their smiles as they heard Sister Claire say that line. It was truly a moment I shall cherish forever.

I AM NOW OFFICIALLY AN ALUMNA OF ASSUMPTION. Wow. Just typing it down gives me a feeling of ultimate happiness mixed with a little bit of sadness, partly becasue I am leaving Assumption, which has been my home for four years. I have experienced the best years of my high school life inside the four walls of Assumption. It is where I learned everything that I know isn’t possible anywhere else. Even if it is, I would much rather let Assumption teach me all I need to learn. There, I know I’m in good hands.

Yes, If I did continue my schooling in CHJ, I would’ve been lagging around medals around my neck because I already have made a name for myself in that school and coming to Assumption, I had to start all over again. But still, I didn’t mind it, though other people were shocked that I didn’t recieve an award. I cried about it one time, just because it was a bit annoying and disappointing.

No, no award. except for the Honor card I got for Outsatnding performance in CAT. Maybe it’s because I didn’t have any study habits. I rarely ever study. Honest. Still, with that, I manage to receive good grades. No grade lower that 84 is okay, but I know my full potential. My teacher once said, “Tazjana, kaya mo man. Ngaa indi mu pag-ubrahun? You’re so much better than this.”

Yadda, Yadda. Yeah. I guess, I was just focusing too much on other things. What those other things are, I cannot even remember anymore. Anyway, it’s all good! What’s important is I know what I can do. College is where I need to focus & do my best for this will shape my future. I know that this is where I need to break a leg.

In the meantime, I will just sit back and enjoy summer while it lasts. Then, it’s college for me. 🙂

FOR MY BATCHMATES, IT’S NOT GOODBYE. IT NEVER IS. WE WILL STILL SEE EACH OTHER.   GRACEM & COMPANY, MY BELOVED BARKADA, KITANAY TA BWS AH. NGAA BI INDI, NO? 😉

THANK YOU, MOM & DAD, SIBLINGS, AUNTIES, UNCLES, FRIENDS, EVERYBODY. Goodnessgraciousness, I wouldnt have done it without you.  🙂

OH, YUGA?

March 15, 2008

I just feel like sharing these things with you. It’s quite amusing, really. :))

You know you are a true blue Ilonggo if …

-Your one peso is pisos.

-Your bathroom has at least one lugod (or one for every family member)

-Your nanay used to make you drink Mirinda or Royal Tru Orange when you have a fever, which is supposed to make you feel better.

-Sinamak is a staple on your dining table (the best Ilonggo invention if you ask me… it was even banned on airplanes long before 911).

-Your toyo is patis and your patis is toyo.

-You use atsuete for your adobo and refer to pinaksiw as pinamalhan.

-Your daily meal will likely include laswa, kbl (kadyos, baboy, langka), ginat-an nga tambo with tugabang and okra, ginat-an nga munggo, Linutik, apan-apan, etc.

-November 1 means eating ibus, suman, suman latik, kalamay-hati, bayi-bayi, valenciana or other native delicacies with glutinous rice and coconut milk.

-You call those you love palangga, pangga, langga or Ga.

-You call your siblings or cousins inday, nonoy or toto… the househelp may call you the same.

-You call those who are older than you manang or manong.

-You catch the attention of sales attendants by calling them “day”or “to”.

-Your childhood games include tumba patis, taksi, panagu-ay, balay-balay, ins, tin-tin baka, etc.

-You used to be (or still are) scared to go out at night lest you meet the aswang, tik-tik , tayhu, kapre, kama-kama, morto, etc.

-Your grandparents read Yuhum magazine.

-You call a person, thing, place and event “kwan” when you forget it (si kwan, ang kwan, sakwan).

-You understand that “Particulars Keep Out” sign means outsiders keep out.

-You use words such as “ahay” (expression of pity, grief, empathy), “yuga” (expression of disbelief, surprise), “ambot ah” (to say you don’t know, expression of impatience).

-You often start your sentence with “ti”.

-You say goodbye by saying “halong”.

-Your favorite cusswords are “linte” (if you’re slightly pissed off), “lilinti-an” (if you’re now really pissed off) and finally “yodiputa” (if you’re pissed off big time).

Guilty?
You are indeed a TRUE Ilonggo indeed!

ONE NIGHT ONLY

March 10, 2008

SENIORS NIGHT ( MARCH 8, 2007)- FIN.

It was abso-fucking-lotuley fantastique!

ONE NIGHT ONLY. The Seniors got all dolled up and went with our partners (JR was my partner. daddy’s orders. NO guy friends outside of the family was allowed to go with me. yot.).  Still, we had a gooooood time!! I was very happy because my hair looked great (I looked good for once), my dress was just divine (Eric De los Santos, no less) and the whole programme was organized (I’m part of the prom committee, you see.)

It was jus t a great night. Even if I thought it would be awkward, I didn’t, after all! My companions in our table were great company! Alyssa Nava (a very good friend), her partner (AJ. IhavealeetolbitofCRUSHonhim. hihi. he’s so nice!) and Tati (my kabarkada) and her partner, Adrian. We all got along pretty well and had a lotta laughs together! I couldn’t ask for better table-mates! I thought the random seating arrangements prepd by the teachers would be a total fiasco but I’m happy with the result. As for the others? Idk & Idc. haha. We had games, dancing (All we did was laugh. everybody dint know what to do. no practice at all. haha!) and had a gay ole time! There were fashion vavavooms but there were also fashion booboos. Haha. Oaky, I’ll keep my sarcastic side comments to myself. This I’ll tell you though. There was a pineapple & a flapper. I’M DEAD SERIOUS.

After Seniors’ Night…. came the post-SN party. We headed off to Smallville & checked in Westown Hotel. We took the Executive suite because we were one big group & three guy partners were there (hey, they didnt sleep there! One was gay, too. haha.) So anyway, I think the whole batch was there. No, 3/4 of the batch were there. Assuptionistas all around with partners.  ARA MN TU CRUSH KU! SI AJ. heeeheee. :)) Anyway, 5 rooms in the 3rd flr, 2 in the 2nd flr and 1 in the 4th flr. were occupied by AC gerls. There were rooms that were occupied by our pakners. Yeah we did get complaints. lotsofem. yep. It’s okay though. We were outdone by the three guys who puked and fainted in the lobby. Damn them.

Coffeebreak- had two orders of mocha frappe. So did the others. Flow- dancing. There was a fight. We ditched the placed. Went around and just hung out with diff people. Nong JR & Bimbo were at MO2 but we didn’t meet them. Dad said that he’ll kick my ass if I even considered going to MO2 so, yeah. That’s the end of it. Dad’s words are law. Oh, well. And I think there were some attorneys at Maki & I swear I know dad knows them so, I followed dad’s orders. At around 2:00, we headed back to the hotel. Watched a movie & played Twister. Slept at 4:00, woke up at 8:00. Ate brunch at around 1:00 at SM City. Then, home at last. 🙂

That was my prom night. no, wait. SENIORS’ NIGHT.

Fo sho. :]
